Kforce Network Engineer/Security Admin in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Kforce has a client in search of a Network Engineer/Security Administrator in Fort Lauderdale, FL.Essential Functions:

  • Manage and maintain Virtual Infrastructure

  • Assists management in HW design, planning, installation and support

  • Install, configure and make operational servers and SAN/direct attached/network/iSCSI storage

  • Perform system management functions and operations of servers, switches, routers including security and periodical or ad-hoc maintenance tasks

  • Works with existing technologies and suggests/evaluates new ones to improve automation that leads to minimal outages and max uptime

  • Provide support to Project managers for HW/SW projects that includes multiple departmental resources and coordination

Provide computer services Tier III help desk support, including:

  • Third point of contact in all computer hardware, software and telecommunications problems and requests

  • Provide guidance to Tier II help desk support engineers and any other junior team members

  • Analyze problems (both technical and operational) and arrive at workable solutions

  • Dispatch other Computer Services staff and vendor representatives to assist in resolving problems

  • Identify software application, network and hardware malfunctions and take appropriate action to resolve issues ensuring data/system integrity

  • Provide guidance and training to IT Support staff in resolving problems and queries

  • Support the Development Server refreshes into encapsulated networks

  • Provide periodical status reports, and timely communications in case of outages, to the management

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems, Infrastructure and Administration or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of infrastructure and server theories, principles, and concepts (typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert level proficiency working with EIRGP, BGP routing protocols

  • Must have strong hands-on work experience planning, designing and implementing Cisco Catalyst, Nexus Networks, and VMware Distributed Switching

  • Strong proficiency with TCP/IP, VLAN, VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS), Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP, iSCSI, FCOE, Fiber Channel and Radius

  • Comprehensive hands on experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN/VPN/DMZ topologies

  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco Meraki 802.11 a/b/g/n

  • Strong proficiency with Wireshark and PRTG or SolarWinds equivalent NCM

  • Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls and VMware vShield

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

  • Able to rapidly absorb and apply new technical information

  • Able to maintain focus within a changing environment

Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or better Required

  • MCSE Preferred

  • VMWare Certification Preferred
