Chrysalis Health Broward Administrative Office Psychiatrist - Child and Adolescent in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric and medication management services and authorizes treatment for clients of Chrysalis Health according to Chrysalis Health’s Policies and Procedures. The Psychiatrist will participate in the development of Medication management Policies and Procedures, which include protocols for over-the-counter medications and to review and approve all completed client documents related to the distribution of client medications. He/She will participate in regular treatment team staffing and provide leadership, support and guidance to treatment members. The Psychiatrist is not limited to performing the above tasks, but instead she/he will participate in any task that is deemed necessary or reasonable in relation to his/her position with Chrysalis Health. He/she further agrees that Chrysalis Health policies related to his/her duties may be amended or changed from time to time, to include psychiatric tasks deemed appropriate by Chrysalis Health.

The following are duties, responsibilities and leadership roles that the Psychiatrist shall provide for the organization:

  • Psychiatrist will provide timely medication management and prescriptions to clients, will explain the benefits, risks and, alternatives of medications to clients, families and staff, will assess client for medications given and, will order any tests needed.

  • Supervise treatment for clients on psychotropic medications in coordination with the primary health care physician, when indicated by client’s medical condition.

  • Document all work done in client records in a detailed and legible manner.

  • Provide regular supervision to any nurse practitioner employed by Chrysalis Health.

  • Provide regular training to staff on psychiatric and medication management issues.

  • Ability to report to work as scheduled, in a timely fashion and will an attitude oriented toward service.

  • Ability to understand and comply with all Chrysalis Health policies and procedures.

  • Presents in a professional manner in the community, in person, on telephone and in written communication including times of extreme stress and when others are upset.

  • Works effectively with culturally diverse groups and individuals experiencing an exacerbation of either psychiatric, substance use and/or medical symptoms, as well as experiencing a stressful situation.

  • Works cooperatively in the work environment and takes direction from management with dignity, respect and in a productive, professional manner.

  • Works cordially with others in a team setting.

  • Assumes a professional, helpful style in all encounters with visitors, vendors and other professionals and represents the company in a positive manner 100% of the time.

  • Reviews and responds to electronic and hand written mail, memoranda and other correspondence and responds to phone inquiries timely (within 24-hours or next available business day) and in a professional manner.

  • Accepts other special projects as assigned.

  • Must maintain training requirements of 40 hours annually.

  • Must successfully complete all criminal background checks annually.

  • Must provide documentation of a valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance which must be maintained throughout tenure in the amount of at least $50,000/$100,000/$50,000 for liability limits.

  • Ability to utilize HRIS management system for payroll and evaluations.Psychiatrist

  • Must maintain a safe driving record with no more than 6 points on motor vehicle report (MVR).

  • Carries out special assignments as directed at time of a hurricane or other disaster.

Graduation from an accredited medical school including successful completion of psychiatric residency and child psychiatry fellowship. Specialty in Psychiatry with a minimum of two (2) years employment experience.

  • Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of the discipline.

  • Basic computer experience to utilize HRIS management systems.

  • Must be a medical doctor licensed and board/certified/board eligible pursuant to Chapter 458 or 469 Florida Statutes.

  • Must carry appropriate malpractice insurance at all times.

  • Have valid Medicaid Provider Number.

  • Bilingual a plus.

Board Certified Child & Adolescent or Fellowship Trained in C&A
