Oracle Solutions Director, Cloud and Technology Stategy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Oracle Retail Solutions Management group is comprised of retail industry experts with strong solution knowledge and solution marketing expertise. The team is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and requirements for Oracle Retail s suite of solutions. You will work closely with engineering, sales and marketing to ensure current and future product goals are being met. Define product strategies, product vision, roadmaps, project plans and requirements. Work with marketing to position, message & launch products. Work closely with sales team and perform market research to understand customer needs and market opportunities.
The Solutions Director for Cloud and Technology Strategy is responsible for setting the vision and defining the requirements for the overall technology platforms used across a large suite of enterprise software solutions for the retail industry. Also, the position defines the overall strategy for how Oracle Retail goes to market with cloud services and defines the requirements for new services so that they are secure, reliable and scalable.
Role and Responsibilities:
Define and document the overall cloud strategy. Define requirements for non-functional enhancements that help software products evolve as SaaS cloud services
o Execute Technical Cloud Reviews to understand the current state of a software solution in order to create a list of non-functional requirements to get the solution to minimum-viable cloud readiness.
o Develop initial business cases for a possible future cloud service to help determine priority based on defining target market, estimated cost structure and margin, and estimated pricing.
o Design of cloud release processes for the RGBU how the PLM process changes due to cloud, new roles and processes to support customers and to deliver software to cloud provider teams.
Define and document the overall strategy for common components that can be leveraged across multiple cloud solutions
o Articulate a common component vision. Document and maintain a roadmap for on-going enhancements. Prioritize and document requirements for development teams.
o Collaborate with product owners on uptake of common components
Help in the execution of Cloud Service Release Projects
o Assist the product manager to come up with a pricing strategy and business case
o Assist Dev team and Performance team s efforts to translate target market from the product manager into technical deployments of appropriate sizes
o Align service levels for uptime and HA/DR such as RTO and RPO definitions for each cloud service to appropriate standards based on market acceptability
Define and document the overall strategy for enterprise tech stack
o Evaluate roadmaps and upcoming versions of server OS platforms, Oracle Middleware and Database to determine the upgrade path for our enterprise tech stack.
o Document and communicate the tech stack plans and strategy to all product teams
o Determine strategy for supporting web browsers, desktop OS platforms and mobile devices
o Evaluate market trends that impact our techstack
Product Owner for retail integration suite RIB, RSB, RIC, Bulk Data frameworks.
o Document the Statement of Direction and roadmap.
o Prioritize requirements for development, write CRD documents, create data sheets and marketing materials, create enablement materials for new releases.
Create go to market materials and presentations to help Sales Reps and Technical Sales Consultants sell the value of cloud and technology. Perform enablement training for Sales Consulting and help them answer complex questions that come from a sales prospect
Perform TCO analysis of software solutions by creating a bill of materials of technology components and costs, delivered to the product managers.
Lead the Technology CAB at the annual OIC event. Assist the leader of the Technology SIG to come up with speakers for quarterly calls and sometimes present on the calls.
Lead and influence product teams to invest and iterate on the right product features, especially in the area of cloud readiness and integration capabilities
Run effective beta programs and collect continuous customer feedback
Collaborate with product marketing on release, market positioning and GTM training, as well as to drive product adoption post-launch
Partner with sales and marketing to deliver high quality product collateral, and influence pricing, packaging and positioning
Launch new services/features by working closely with marketing, and sales organizations to maximize product adoption
Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical products and features into intuitive concepts and graphics.
Present to internal audiences, customers, conference attendees, partners, media and analysts
Establish metrics to measure the success of each service offering and release
BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
7 years of software engineering and/or software product management experience.
10 years experience working with B2B enterprise software, with a preference for retail industry experience.
Direct experience using integration tools or experience working on projects that required significant application integration.
5 years experience with any of the following: Enterprise architecture technical deployment design, software technical sales consulting that included technical deployment design, product development responsibilities that included overall architecture design.
