This is a full-time position on day shift, M-F, as a study coordinator for oncology clinical trials.
Job Description Details:
Study Acquisition- Participate in the feasibility assessment of new potential clinical trials.
Pre-Initiation and Study Start-Up - Assist the Regulatory Coordinator in the completion and submission of regulatory documents to the study sponsor and to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) that will be monitoring and ensuring the safety of the study subjects participating in clinical trials.
Study Recruitment - Work closely with investigators to recruit potential study participants and assess them for eligibility. Present IRB-approved informed consent form to potential study participants and ensure its understanding before the participant signs the document; ensure that no study-related procedures are performed before the patient has signed the informed consent.
Study Conduct - Schedule subject visits according to study procedures in the protocol and assure that all laboratory tests and subject assessments are completed at appropriate times. Prepare and process laboratory specimens; present laboratory data and clinical information to the investigator for evaluation of potential adverse events. Assure all study documentation is accurate and complete. Administer and/or dispense investigational agent/study medication under the investigator's supervision. Monitor patients for adverse events and report serious adverse events to the sponsor within 24 hours. Complete care report forms. Coordinate and participate in monitoring visits with sponsors. Resolve data queries. Facilitate inspections and audits. Promote subject compliance by providing patient support and education. Ensure patient confidentiality and safety, and maintain contact with sponsor for protocol deviations.
Study Completion/Termination- Ensure all data queries are resolved and subjects are followed according to the study protocol. Assist with study close-out activities and document retention.
All aspects of Good Clinical Practice and federal regulations governing human subject research must be understood and adhered to at all times.
FL RN license required, or similar healthcare licensure/training
Minimum five (5) years of clinical trial research experience
At least two (2) years of experience in oncology preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
Current BLS certification required
Ability to work independently
Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, cancer patients and familiesis necessary
Good organizational skills are necessary
Driving may be required on some occasions
SOCRA or ACRP certification preferred
