Kforce Principal DevOps Engineer in Miami, Florida

Our client is looking to for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join their team in Miami, Florida (FL). Summary:The ideal candidate is a highly driven individual who is passionate about technology, but also a -roll up your sleeves- doer who can orchestrate instance provisioning and manage applications and services on those instances. The candidate should be adept at (and enjoy) building automation and repeatability into everything we engineer, and care deeply that our software and systems perform as clients would expect. Responsibilities:

  • Develop automation for repeatable tasks

  • Manage and implement monitoring requirements and thresholds

  • Optimize, tune, and troubleshoot application servers and related applications

  • Assist technical support with production related issues as necessary

  • Work closely with Software Developers to implement new services and applications

  • Play a key role as a member of the Software Release Implementation team

  • Develop standards, guidelines, and best practices for application server platforms, including logging, monitoring, and configuration management

  • Manage server capacity of pre-production and production environments

  • Understand and manage data stores

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7 production support

  • That you've worked in a Public/Private Cloud or SaaS based service, and that you understand how to achieve high availability in a high change rate environment

  • You enjoy partnering with Software Engineers and Client Support in achieving project goals

  • You have strong working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous delivery tooling

  • You're proficient with the following tools or an equivalent to Git, Jira, Bamboo/Jenkins, Chef, New Relic, Graphite, Sensu, and LogStash, and have an unstoppable desire to make Engineering productive and successful

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or similar

  • 5 to 7 years in a Systems Administration, or an Infrastructure Automation role

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)

  • You like to teach as well as be taught

  • You have demonstrated the ability to resolve issues

  • Can-do attitude and proactive approach to solving problems
