WestCare Research Assistant in Miami, Florida

Job Description:

Duties: The Research Assistant is responsible for maintaining the database, conducting basic statistical analyses, tracking clients and conducting client intake, discharge and follow-up assessments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor quantitative and qualitative data collection processes

  • Data entry according to program evaluation protocols

  • Perform basic statistical analyses with direction from supervisor

  • Ensure adherence to contact requirements as related to data collection

  • Produce reports or assist in the development of reports as required

  • Track clients for follow-up using approved protocols

  • Conducts client and/or staff Focus groups

  • Collect and enter survey and billing data as required

  • Administers Client Perception surveys

  • Collects baseline, discharge, and follow-up data on clients

  • Scores assessment instruments

  • Enters client data in the statistical and evaluation database

  • Produces reports as required Maintains a Research and Evaluation file for each client

  • Assists with Performance Improvement activities as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of one year experience in evaluation and/or research

  • Familiar with data collection tools, standardized instruments, surveys and databases

  • Ability to create databases in Excel, SPSS etc.

  • Basic understanding of statistical data and interpretation of that data

  • Familiarity and facility with basic graphic programs such as Power Point and Print Shop

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, possess effective interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to pass criminal background clearance and drug screening

  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize appropriately

  • Ability to communicate accurately and responsibly with internal and external departments and agencies

Minimum Standards:

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree

  • Must be able to stoop and bend to access four-drawer and lateral filing cabinet

  • Frequent writing and use of key board

  • Occasional lifting of 20-25 pounds

  • Must be able to travel throughout Monroe county community to the clients' homes or other convenient locations for the client in order to gather evaluation data
